Managing bookkeeping across multiple clients means constantly moving between connections, statements, reconciliations, transaction queues, and review tasks. What if more of that work could happen in one connected workflow?
Today, we’re announcing a wave of new releases across Botkeeper Infinite designed to help you spend less time navigating routine bookkeeping work and more time applying your expertise where it matters most. These updates include a new unified Accounts Page public beta, major Transaction Manager improvements, faster Auto Bank Rec workflows, performance upgrades across the platform, a new AI Configuration Settings Wizard, and cleaner client and user management.
We’re also sharing a sneak peek at upcoming data validation tools that will soon put even more control directly in your hands.
The goal is straightforward: make bookkeeping automation easier to manage, easier to trust, and more useful in your day-to-day accounting firm workflow automation.
The new Accounts Page is now available in public beta and replaces Smart Connect as the central destination for account-related workflows in Infinite.
Why make this change? Smart Connect helped firms connect client financial accounts and access data. But your daily workflow involves more than connectivity alone. You also need to manage statements, review reconciliations, monitor account activity, and understand what needs attention next.
The Accounts Page brings those activities together in one interface.
From this unified hub, you can manage:
Instead of treating connections, statements, and reconciliations as separate destinations, the Accounts Page gives you a more complete view of how those pieces work together.
That means less navigation, fewer disconnected steps, and a clearer path from incoming financial data to completed bookkeeping work. Long story short, you get a more organized foundation for accounting firm workflow automation.
The Accounts Page is currently in public beta, giving you an opportunity to explore the new experience as we continue improving it. If you’re familiar with Smart Connect, the transition should feel less like starting over and more like moving into a broader, more unified workspace.
Transaction Manager is already designed to use AI-powered categorization to reduce repetitive data entry while keeping your team in control. This release adds several improvements that make finding, assigning, reviewing, and processing transactions more efficient.
Payee data now loads fully when you open the selection experience. Payees are properly sorted and grouped, and instant search makes it easier to locate the right option immediately.
This resolves previous pagination constraints that could prevent users from finding certain payees. Rather than searching through limited pages or wondering whether a payee is available, you can now search the complete list more confidently.
Need to add a payee that doesn’t exist yet? You can create it inline within the workflow. Once created, the new payee is automatically selected immediately.
That small improvement removes a surprisingly common interruption: leaving the current task, creating the payee elsewhere, returning to the transaction, and selecting it manually. Now, the workflow keeps moving.
Large class lists previously created rendering and loading issues for some users. Those issues have been resolved, making it easier to work with clients that have more complex class structures or exceptionally high volumes of classes.
We also fixed a display issue that caused active models to show an “awaiting training” status instead of the correct training timestamp.
Why does that matter? Visibility builds trust. When you’re monitoring how the system is learning, the status should accurately reflect what’s happening so you can make informed decisions about your workflow.
Transactions that are still pending automation in the Categorize tab now display a distinct icon next to the category.
This gives you a quick visual cue that processing is still underway. You don’t have to guess whether an item is ready for review or simply waiting for automation to finish.
Together, these changes make Transaction Manager more responsive and transparent. You can find payees faster, handle exceptions with fewer interruptions, and understand the status of automated work at a glance.
Reconciliation is one of the most important parts of the close: and one of the easiest places for small delays to compound. That’s why this release includes meaningful improvements to Auto Bank Rec.
We optimized Auto Bank Rec loading performance to help you move through reconciliation workflows faster. We also expanded access to historical reconciliation data, giving you more context when reviewing prior periods or investigating account activity.
Need to understand what happened in an earlier reconciliation? You have more historical information available to support that review without relying on disconnected records or manual searching.
Auto Bank Rec continues to help compare general ledger activity with statement or account data, surfacing discrepancies and potential matches for review. These performance improvements make that process more practical for everyday use.
The platform will now warn you when you attempt to complete a reconciliation while the previous period remains open.
You can then choose to:
This is an important balance between control and flexibility. The warning helps prevent accidental gaps in the close, but it doesn’t force you into a single workflow when a deliberate exception is appropriate.
As a result, you can approach reconciliation with more confidence and fewer surprises at month-end. Learn more about Auto Bank Rec and how it supports continuous bookkeeping workflows.
Several behind-the-scenes improvements are also making routine work faster and more reliable.
We optimized loading times and overall responsiveness when running Bot Review exception reports. That means less waiting when you’re reviewing discrepancies and more time spent resolving the issues that actually need professional attention.
We resolved bottlenecks within Statement Automation to reduce processing delays and accelerate transaction timelines.
When statement data moves through the platform more efficiently, your team can get to categorization, review, and reconciliation sooner.
We also fixed underlying issues that could cause processing delays during AutoPush workflows. These improvements support a smoother path from categorized transactions to the general ledger, helping your team rely on automation for more routine activity.
AI-powered bookkeeping works best when your firm can clearly configure and manage its preferences. To make that process easier, we standardized AI preference links across the platform so they now launch the new AI Configuration Settings Wizard.
Instead of encountering different entry points or inconsistent navigation, you’ll have a more unified path to AI configuration.
We also improved the initial client setup wizard. Chart of Accounts data now loads more quickly and accurately on first launch, helping you get new client workflows configured with fewer delays.
The result? A smoother setup experience from the beginning, with clearer access to the settings that shape your automation.
As your firm grows, management screens can become crowded with inactive users and terminated clients. That makes it harder to focus on the clients and team members who need attention today.
To create a cleaner, more focused experience, inactive users and terminated clients are now hidden by default in management views.
Need to review them? A new display toggle lets you show those records whenever necessary.
This change keeps everyday views streamlined without removing access to historical or inactive information. You get less clutter during routine management tasks and more control when deeper review is required.
We’re also working on new data validation capabilities that are currently being used internally and will soon become available to account owners.
Soon, you’ll be able to add multiple transaction rows to Statement Review tasks at once.
Simply copy transaction data from a spreadsheet in CSV or tab-delimited format and paste it directly into the platform. The supported fields will include:
This can be especially helpful when you need to bring in a group of transactions without entering each row individually.
Improperly derived date formats can create tedious cleanup work. The upcoming bulk-edit tool will let you update the year value across multiple Statement Review tasks at once.
Rather than correcting each task individually, you’ll be able to make the appropriate year adjustment in bulk and move on to the next priority.
These tools are designed to give account owners more direct control over data validation while reducing repetitive correction work.
This release brings improvements to nearly every stage of the bookkeeping workflow:
Are you concerned that more automation could mean less visibility? These updates are designed to do the opposite. They give you faster systems, clearer indicators, better warnings, and more control over the work that requires your judgment.
That’s the opportunity behind bookkeeping automation: not removing expertise, but giving your team a better platform for using it.
