Botkeeper connects to QBO and Xero to perform daily accounting needs in an efficient and accurate manner.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero are software to do your bookkeeping or accounting. Botkeeper takes on the tedious and time-consuming tasks your bookkeeper performs, reducing the amount of time your firm spends on accounting. Will Botkeeper file my client's taxes?

While Botkeeper won’t file your client's taxes with the IRS, we will make sure you’re set up perfectly for tax time. You’ll receive a year-end financial package that contains everything you need to file on your client's behalf.

Where is the Botkeeper team located and what are their qualifications?

 

Botkeeper team members are full-time employees based in several areas throughout the world, with many in the United States. We don’t outsource your bookkeeping, and we never will. Our accounting/CPA team is trained in-house, and collectively, we’ve supported thousands of firms and their business clients. We know how to meet your unique bookkeeping needs, regardless of your clients' industries or business complexities.

Is there a mobile Botkeeper app?

Botkeeper is browser-based. While you can access it from any browser, Botkeeper is not optimized for a mobile experience.

What general ledgers does Botkeeper support?

Botkeeper is fully compatible with Quickbooks Online and Xero, however, clients on other general ledgers can benefit from our Botkeeper Lite offering:
  • For Non-QBO or Xero clients
  • Allows management of tasks, projects, documents and credentials

  • This package removes our machine learning and automated transaction categorization, leaving a streamlined workflow solution that replaces multiple standalone software packages, bringing their functions into one convenient place.

How do you import previous bookkeeping information into Botkeeper?

During the onboarding process, we’ll collect as much historical data and information as possible from your client's existing accounting software. If no previous records exist, we’ll get to know as much as we can the old-school way, by interacting directly with you to get those books up and running! And rest assured—we’re respectful of your time and will streamline as much of the process as possible.

Does Botkeeper offer tax or financial advice?

While we can make suggestions to keep your client bookkeeping stress-free, we can’t provide you with tax, legal, or financial advice. We can, however, connect you with one of our best-in-class Accounting Partners for specific tax and financial questions. 

Does Botkeeper support both cash and accrual accounting?

Yes! Botkeeper works with your accounting preferences and provides support for both cash- and accrual-based accounting. 

When was Botkeeper founded?

 

Botkeeper was was incorporated on July 27th, 2015  by a team of entrepreneurs who suffered the same bookkeeping challenges experienced by most small and mid-sized businesses. 

We realized the primary issue with bookkeeping was the tedious, manual, and repetitive data entry combined with the lack of meaningful visualization and analytics of important data. Human error, unexpected life events, and a lack of scalability make humans very inefficient at bookkeeping.
