Botkeeper keeps getting better. Here are the updates we're releasing as of September 25, 2025.

Transaction Manager

  • Train Your Model
    Allows users to add logic based on specific bank transaction attributes to determine how the transaction should be categorized and/or allocated. This will allow for more precise results from automation when there is little or no transaction history available in the general ledger, while also allowing for more specific allocations in high-complexity situations. Train Your Model works alongside existing models to help fill in gaps where needed. Learn more.

  • Statement Automation
    When a PDF statement is the only available means of obtaining transactions, Statement Automation will allow automated extraction of those transactions, enabling them to be added to the GL and categorized by our AI. Extraction is manually checked by Botkeeper when confidence in an extraction is not high enough. Learn more.

Auto Bank Rec

  • Support for Subaccounts in QBO and Combined Statements
    Auto Bank Rec now supports reconciliation of main accounts with subaccounts (QBO) as a single reconciliation, eliminating the need to reconcile each subaccount individually. Additionally, users can now upload a single statement that contains multiple accounts just once, and reconcile all the included accounts from that upload. Learn more.

Firm Insights

  • % Automated calculations revised
    To provide better accuracy in the calculation of "% Automated" information in Firm Insights, GL Automation and Statement Automation will now be included. These numbers will appear as two new data points in the Automation chart, as well as two new columns in the Automation table.
  • Incomplete AI setup tags added
    The Automation card in Firm Insights will now include the following tags to inform you when one of the following configurations is missing or not completely set up.

    • Uncategorized Account Incomplete Setup: If no accounts have been excluded from model training, this tag will appear to remind users that Uncategorized accounts should be excluded to prevent the AI from predicting and posting to them automatically. 

    • GL Automation Incomplete Setup: If a bank or credit card account was selected under the GL Automation dropdown in the Add Client flow but no holding account was selected, this tag will appear. Users will be directed to the Configurations tab to select a GL Automation holding account.

    • Smart Connect Incomplete Setup: This tag appears when accounts are connected through Smart Connect but automation hasn't been enabled:

      • AutoPush or ManualPush is not enabled

      • "Linking not needed" is not selected

Work

  • Task dependencies added
    Users can now define task dependencies, which allows tasks to block or be blocked by other tasks. Task status changes automatically as it is either blocked or unblocked by associated tasks. Learn more.
