Understanding Two-Factor Authentication
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security that provides an extra step to verify your identity when logging into an online account or system. It requires you to provide two different types of authentication factors, typically something you know (such as a password) and something you have (such as a verification code sent to your mobile device). Enabling 2FA in the Botkeeper Operating System (BOS) adds an extra layer of protection to your account, making it more resistant to unauthorized access and enhancing the security of your data.
Setting up 2FA
You'll be prompted to set up your 2FA once you've activated your account by establishing your password and providing your first and last name.
When setting up your two-factor authentication (2FA), you have a choice between receiving a verification code by text message, or using an authenticator app such as Duo Mobile or Google Authenticator.
Authenticator App (recommended): Download your chosen app to your mobile device. You can scan the QR code that appears in the prompt as shown below, or copy and paste the provided code into the app to sync it.
Text Message: Enter your mobile phone number as indicated, and click Confirm.
Once confirmed, you'll receive a text message containing a code. Enter the code as shown below, and click Confirm. Your login setup is now complete.

Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration
Single Sign-On (SSO) integration simplifies user access to multiple applications by allowing them to use a single set of login credentials. In the context of Botkeeper, SSO integration offers enhanced convenience and streamlines user authentication across various platforms.
To learn if SSO integration is an option for your firm, submit a help ticket. The Botkeeper team will assist you. Regardless of whether your firm integrates Botkeeper into its SSO, all users must use 2FA.
